Trail of Dreams Comes to Washington, DC!
A new Latino movement, headed by a new generation of activists ready to work to change America, emerged in the 2008 presidential election.
With the victory of President-Elect Barack Obama still fresh on our
minds, we are faced with a new Administration and the priorities they
will set forth. Will this Administration meet the needs of our Latino
community– a group that will double in size over the next 40 years
to make up more than 30% of the population? Will our Latino community
seize this moment to make our priorities the priorities of our newest
leaders? As our new leaders make their way to Capitol Hill, our goal
is to remind them…

Committee members in the New Latino Movement group include Latino volunteers who work for the U.S. Senate; the U.S. House of Representatives; national and international nonprofits and advocacy groups and who dedicated time to campaigning in, and empowering, Latino communities in such places as CA, CO, FL, NM, NC, NV, NY, PA, TX, VA and Puerto Rico.
