On 4/4, in support of the 44th President, our NLM team held a conference call with friends from seven states to talk about how we can come together to help make a difference in the 2012 election. We’re in to help .. and we hope you are too!One of our key action items coming out of the call is to increase our organizing efforts around house meetings — which are great for brainstorming and community building. Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta used house meetings as key part of their efforts to organize around farmworkers’ rights– and house meetings remain a powerful (and fun) way to bring friends and like-minded people together around important causes.
Now in 2012, there is so much at stake for the Latino community and we have just a few months left until the November 6th election.

HOST A HOUSE MEETING 4/18 WITH GEORGE LOPEZ!
The Obama campaign is asking Latinos across the nation to sign up today to host a house meeting helping them launch the Latinos for Obama program. Party hosts will get access to join in a conference call with the top Latino advisors on the campaign — National Political Director Katherine Archuleta and National Latino Vote Director Adrian Saenz. The call also features the one and only … actor and comedian, George Lopez! Hear about some of the important issues facing our community, talk about what’s at stake in 2012, and learn more about the campaign’s efforts to protect the progress we’ve made by organizing and getting out the Latino vote.

HOST A HOUSE MEETING 4/26 WITH THE FUTURO44 COUNCIL!
Across the nation, many of NLM’ members and friends are organizing, planning and promoting fundraisers to help support the President’s re-election as part of the Futuro44, the official young Latino professionals finance council supporting the Futuro Fund (the Obama campaign’s Hispanic Finance Council). We’re also actively involved in several of the Obama Victory Fund’s other finance councils including Gen44, the young professionals finance council, Lawyers for Obama (the lawyers’ finance council), Womens’ Leadership Fund and more. sign up to host a Futuro44 meeting on April 26th so you and your friends can learn more about getting involved in low and high-dollar fundraising efforts in your region. Similar to the April 18th house meeting, there’ll be a special call with information that you and your house meeting guests can participate in.
